
Senior Technical Engineer (PE or SE)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer (8+ years of experience) to lead our structural engineering team in Boise, Idaho. In this pivotal role, you will provide technical guidance, oversight, and mentorship on various high-profile projects spanning residential, commercial, industrial, public, and component design. This position balances team leadership with hands-on project work, ideal for engineers who enjoy both mentoring others and solving complex structural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership, oversight, and quality assurance/control from conceptual design through construction administration.
Documentation
Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other documentation for structural designs.
Mentorship
Mentor junior engineers, review work, and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
Structural Analysis
Conduct advanced structural analyses and evaluations for new and existing structures.
Expert Knowledge
Maintain expert-level knowledge of current structural engineering codes, standards, materials, and construction methods.
Collaboration
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other design professionals to coordinate structural engineering efforts.
Innovation
Lead the development of innovative structural designs that meet project requirements and client needs.
Client Representation
Represent the firm in client meetings, presentations, and site inspections.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
P.E. license required; S.E. license preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, including experience in the design of residential, commercial, industrial, and component projects.
Proven ability to effectively lead, mentor, and develop junior engineering staff.
Proficiency in design software (RISA Suite, Revit, ArchiCad).
Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing skills.
Compensation and Benefits
This role offers competitive compensation ($100K - $140K based on experience), a $5K sign-on bonus for direct applicants, and comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance.
